Classroom Layout (1st Grade Homeroom)
Here are some photos of my past set-ups to provide a glimpse into my classroom community. I like to group desks into pods when possible to provide opportunity for collaboration. I also think a dedicated classroom library space is vital to encourage students' love of reading. A calendar center space to work on daily math work and to provide a space for morning meetings also helps to build a sense of family and community within the classroom.

Classroom Layout (Reading Intervention)
These are photos from my most recent role as a Reading Interventionist. I had a dedicated space to do small groups and 1:1 work with students. I love to create a colorful and inviting space for students.

Bulletin Boards
I love displaying students' work throughout the year. I think it helps encourage hard work, knowing of pride in the students to show what they know. I also love for the classroom to come alive with the hard work my students put towards their work.

Student Work
Helping students actively learn is one of the ways I believe students connect with the material. Whether this be in the form of manipulating letters or tiles in identifying sounds in a word, using chalk to practice fractions outside, or experiencing different textures of animal coverings--using a Multisensory technique is a great way to get students engaged. I love finding creative and interesting ways to have students practice reading, writing and thinking--across the content areas.
